Rob Nagel, 64, of Amarillo died Friday, April 6, 2012.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. G.A. Roach officiating.
Rob was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Arlington, Va., to Ed and Martha Reed. She graduated in 1966 from Herndon High School in Herndon, Va. She received a master’s degree in business in 1994 from West Texas University.
She married LeRoy Nagel in June 1979. She had many work endeavors retiring after 20 years of employment with the city of Amarillo.
Rob was an avid biker, runner and walker, volunteering and fundraising at many events in the area. She was an active member of the Amarillo Herb Society and loved gardening.
She was an avid reader of novels, poetry and studied intently the word of the Bible, learning to live the life Jesus Christ had in store for her. In addition, she enjoyed visiting wineries across the country as well as her dark chocolate.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her father; and three brothers, Allen, Willie and Gene.
Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Nagel; her brothers, Bobby Reed and wife Joe Ann of Lucedale, Miss., Leland Reed and wife Janet of Cincinnati and George Reed; a sister, Sheila Engels and husband Gary of Bull Head City, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Astells of Elma, Wash., and Sonja Bartley of Portolla, Calif.; two stepsons, Dale Nagel and wife Gay of Greeley, Colo., and Curt Nagel of Westminster, Colo.; grandsons, Andy, Jacob, Matt, Wyatt, Josh and Bradley; and a granddaughter, Ashley.
In lieu of flowers, at Rob’s request, she suggest memorials be made to Amarillo Food Banks; or Susan G. Komen Cancer Research, P.O. Box 50610, Amarillo, TX 79159.
