Richard Wilhelm of Amarillo, TX passed away January 15, 2025.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 Washington. Interment will be in Happy Cemetery in Happy, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Richard was born May 28, 1943 in Hereford, TX to Charles and Susan Wilhelm. He graduated from Happy High School. He married Deborah Cook in 1971 and together they shared 53 years of marriage.
Richard worked in the trucking industry for almost 40 years in all and retired in July 2004 from Roadway Express. He received a Million Mile Safety Award at Roadway which he was especially proud of.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Susan Wilhelm.
Richard is survived by his wife, Deborah Wilhelm; children, Mark Wilhelm and wife Lori, Jason Wilhelm and wife BreAnn, and Amy Bernard and husband Shane; grandchildren, Aubree and Vincent Kemph, Brayden and Samm Wilhelm, Chloe Wilhelm, Dylan and Luke Wilhelm, and Connor and Logan Bernard; and 2 great-grandchildren, Savannah and Jaxson; brothers, Tom, Vernon, and Lawrence Wilhelm; and sisters, Doris Bookout, Betty Wiertz, and Helen Ruffini.
