Richard Neal Vallance, 78, of Amarillo, died November 23, 2018.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, Stan Cosby will be officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Richard was born July 20, 1940 in Memphis, Texas to Dick and Ardis Vallance. Richard married Kay Green on June 4, 1964 in McLean, Texas. He worked for Albertsons, Furrs Supermarkets & retired from Lowes Home Improvement in 2012. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God. His hobbies were painting, attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and fishing. He loved his family and was well loved by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his father & mother-in-law Rev. Luther & Coraine Green and brother-in-law, Joe Shadle.

Richard is survived by his wife Kay Vallance, of Amarillo; two sons, David Vallance and wife Kristi, of Lavon, TX. and Bryan Vallance and wife Valerie, of Amarillo; three sisters, Cherrye Shadle Howard of Clarendon,TX, Dolfia Hearn and husband Billy of Montgomery, TX, and Linda Tomlinson and husband Mack of Denton, TX; seven grandchildren, Kalvin, Dillon, Aaron, Donovan, Stephanie, Amber and Kara; and three great-grandchildren, Eisley, Logan and Copeland.

    We were so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. I remember going by Albertson’s with my brother Billy to visit with Richard when we lived in Amarillo. Richard was always good for a friendly visit just like his Dad!
