Richard Alvie Dupriest died August 8, 2022, at the age of 81.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, Amarillo, Texas with the Reverends, Dr. Howard Griffin and Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Richard was born on Jan 29, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas to Carl and Mabel Dupriest.
He married Maris Lindley on June 7, 1960. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Seekers Sunday school class.
Richard was an entrepreneur in the automotive industry. He started Dupriest Datsun in 1964. He went on to open and operate multiple Auto Auctions around the country. He remained active in the automobile business until he retired in 2020. He cherished the lifelong friends he made in business.
Above all, he loved The Lord and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Maris and their three children, Richard A. Dupriest Jr. and wife Terri of Portland, Texas, Cory Dupriest and wife Kelly of Amarillo and Darcy Rittenberry and husband David of Amarillo. Six grandchildren, Hillary James and husband Austin, Ryan Dupriest and wife Kaitlyn, Chandler Dupriest, Meg Dupriest, Parker Rittenberry and wife Laura, Blake Rittenberry and wife Reagan. Great-grandson, Jax Rittenberry. Brother, Tom Dupriest and wife Jessica, sister-in-law Linda Lindley, three nephews and one niece.
