Reyes (Buddy) Coronado Martinez

Reyes (Buddy) Coronado Martinez, age 58, passed from this life into his heavenly home on June 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born to Reyes Martinez and Maria Coronado Martinez on November 25, 1959 in Littlefield, Texas.  When his parents brought him home from the hospital his father said “We’re gonna call him Buddy because he will be my little buddy”.

Reyes was employed by Llano Cemetery prior to his illness.  He fought long and hard to battle his illness as he was never a quitter.  Buddy was a very hardworking, loving and caring man.  He was always helping other and would give the shirt off his back for someone in need.  He loved to fish with Angel and taking him to his soccer games, and enjoyed spending time with Gabi, Tanya, and Deanna.  He enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his family.  He especially liked to bring gifts home to his family members.

Reyes is survived by his fiancé, Margarita Silva who gave him much love and caring during his illness, his children, Charity Peralta (Sergio). Mary Martinez (Santos), Ruby Rodriguez (David) and sons Reyes III (L.B.) Martinez, and Devin Zapata, all of Anton and Angel of Amarillo.  He is also survived by three sisters, two brothers, and five grandchildren, many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and his cherished in-laws.  He will be forever missed, and memories of him treasured always.

He is preceded by his parents, Reyes and Maria Martinez, and a brother Ruben Martinez, wife Flo Martinez, and two grandchildren, Phoenix Peralta and Kadence Peralta.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 and funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The mass will be celebrated by Father Gomez.  He will be cremated and graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, June 29, 2018, at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

    I just learned of Buddy’s passing. He was always so kind to me when we worked together at Llano Cemetery. Such a wonderful gentleman and such a kind soul. You will be very missed Buddy. My condolences to his family. You truly lost a wonderful person and I’m so very sorry. God Bless you all.
