Ramon “Raymond” Castro Vasquez, Jr., 54, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on June 18, 2023.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, June 22, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 23, 2023, at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Raymond was born in Dumas, Texas on September 27, 1968, to Anna and Ramon Vasquez.
Raymond had a passion for driving and working on his race car. He was a big fan of fishing and hunting and all things outdoors. He was often giving himself the title of grill master. Also, Raymond was a life-long fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed putting his grill master title to work every Sunday during football season.
Raymond was a wonderful father, always putting his children’s needs above his own for which he will be remembered for. His love for his children could only be matched by his greater love for his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his children, Adrian Hernandez (Francisco Hernandez), Anna Laura Vasquez (Kefren Tarango), and Crystal Vasquez; grandchildren, Adrian Hernandez, Jr., Ximena Hernandez, Zaylee L. Chavez, Noah Ray Tarango, and Ezra Jon Tarango; parents, Anna and Ramon Vasquez; brother, Michael Castro Vasquez; and nieces, Tavia Nicole Gaytan, and Taryn Flores.
Viewing will be available from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, and 10:00 A.M. – 5:30 P.M., Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
