Quincy Dickey Durr, 88, of Borger, TX died Thursday, March 16, 2023.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Llano Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 3:30 p.m., at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Les Sharp, pastor of Faith Covenant in Borger, TX officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Quincy was born November 29, 1934, in Amarillo, TX to Abijah and Quincy (Elms) Dickey. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953, and Northwest Florence Nightingale Nursing School in 1956.
She married Marion Durr on March 4, 1956, at Polk Street United Methodist Church. From 1957 until 1972, she raised their six children in Fritch, TX. From 1972 until 1983, she worked at Borger Hospital. From 1983-1985, she worked at Northwest Texas Hospital and BSA Hospital. From 1985-1994, she was the Director of Nursing at Park Place Towers in Amarillo.
Quincy was fondly known to her family and friends as a faithful wife, loving mother, friend, devoted Christian, and community servant.
She loved to read, Bill O’Reilly was one of her favorite authors. She enjoyed watching her children as they participated in athletics. She also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. She volunteered at BSA after she retired from nursing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Durr; son Wesley Wayne Durr; grandson, Jon Wesley Durr; and grandson and granddaughter, Cody and Erica Durr.
Survivors include children, DeRenda Durr, Karen Myers and husband William, Leisa Farquhar and husband David, Ronald Durr and wife Kim, and Dickey Durr and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Heather Durr, DeRenda Laramore and husband Montana, Caleb Holt and wife Leslie, Padon Holt and wife Jenna, Collin Voyles, DeAnne Oliver and husband Jared, Elaine Dillard and husband Dalton, Scott Myers, Jonathan Myers, Matthew Myers, Colton Durr, Kaylee Neff and husband Dakotah, Shelby Palmer and husband James, Gary Farquhar and wife Kristen, Hayden Farquhar and wife Whitney, Jackson Durr, and Jayce Durr; great-grandchildren, Bralee Inman, Ashlynn Laramore, Rhett Laramore, Wyatt Laramore, Cutter Laramore, Cooper Holt, Nora Holt, Miles Holt, Harper Holt, Claire Holt, Emma Dillard, Micah Dillard, Callan Farquhar, and Cooper Farquhar.
