Perry Lee "Bud" Johnson

Perry Lee “Bud” Johnson, 86, of Amarillo, TX passed away January 7, 2025.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Temple Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Bud was born November 4, 1938 in Hedley, TX to Charlie Allen and Eunice Blackwell Johnson. He attended Hedley High School but quit to tend to the family farm and earned his GED. Bud then joined the United States Navy and proudly served for 4 years. He married Ruth Ann Jackson on May 25, 1959. Together they were married 59 years before her passing in 2019.

Bud worked for Pantex and retired after 38 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann Johnson; sister, Charlene Milton of White Deer, TX; and his parents, Charlie and Eunice Johnson of Hedley, TX. 

Bud is survived by his children, Timothy Dwayne Johnson and wife Shanda, Gary Don Johnson and wife DeRima, and Cynthia Ann Trest; grandchildren, Kylee Johnson, Caleb Johnson and wife Nikki, Kaitlin Zamora and husband Garrett, Brad Johnson and wife Angel, Justin Johnson and wife Megan, Amanda Blasingame and husband JR, and Jennifer Glenn; great-grandchildren, Caedon Helton, Coda Nettle, Shelby Garrison, Harley Garrison, Austin Blasingame, Emory Blasingame, Levi Johnson, Aaliyah Merrell, Jada Pena, Zachary Zamora, and Valerie Glenn; and great great-grandchild, Ivy Bolden.
