Owen Lee Mosier, 85, of Amarillo, TX passed away on July 15, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in the First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Private burial will be at New Home Cemetery in Nash, OK. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Owen was born at home on February 28, 1937, to Robert and Hazel Mosier in Washita County, Oklahoma. He attended schools at Port, OK, and Dill City, OK, and graduated from Burns Flatt, OK high school in 1956. While in high school he was active in FFA, baseball, and was an outstanding basketball player. After graduation he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Enid, OK where he met his wife, Janette Dark. He continued to play basketball while serving in the Air Force and refereeing basketball games for many years after. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1960, he owned a retail, wholesale gas, oil and fertilizer business in Nash, OK where they continued to live. After selling the business he was hired by Gulf Oil Company as an account manager in the fertilizer marketing division. Gulf Oil was purchased by the Williams Company of Tulsa, OK. This company was combined with other fertilizer companies becoming Agrico Chemical Company. In 1976, he was transferred to a territory of the surrounding West Texas area while living in Canyon, TX. Later Freeport McMoran Company of New Orleans, LA purchased this company and he was transferred to Headquarters there and lived in Mandeville, LA where he retired in 1992. He then retired again to Rogers, AR where he enjoyed his new “part time job” playing golf five days a week. Later residing in Amarillo, TX.

Owen was a Master Mason, volunteer fireman, and a member of First Baptist Church Amarillo, TX. His greatest times were when he was with his children and grandchildren, golfing, camping, fishing, and attending their school activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Mosier; sister, Jaunita McBride and husband Archie; brother-in-law, Jerry Dark; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Janette, of 64 years; three sons, Rodney Mosier and wife Sandy, of Amarillo, TX, Randy Mosier and wife Amy, of El Paso, TX, and Rick Mosier and wife Robbi of Hoover, AL; five granddaughters, Tiffany, Robin, Sarah, Erin and Brittany; two grandsons, Brett and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Natalie, and Nathaniel.

Owen was greatly loved by his family and friends. His family was proud of his many accomplishments. He will be dearly missed!
