Olin L. Isham

Olin Lavern Isham, 92, of Amarillo, TX met his Lord on February 28, 2024.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Olin was born on May 5, 1931, in Moran, TX to Harvey and Vern

Isham. He was the oldest of three children. Olin joined the United States Navy and served four years during the Korean Conflict. After his service to his country, he attended Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Geological Sciences in 1958. He went to work for Shamrock Oil and Gas and was working in Spearman, Texas. It was there where he met his wife, Patsy. They met in March and married in October of 1959. Together, they were married for 64 years. They had two children, Dean, who is a professor of design at East Tennessee State University and Cindy, who is a wife, mother, and community volunteer.

Through the years, Olin was active in multiple church choirs including College Heights Baptist Church in Casper, WY, University Hill Baptist Church in Denver, CO, and First Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX. He loved to sing and loved to fellowship. While in Denver, CO which was 30 years ago, he loved to ski, play golf, ride his bike, and hike. Olin was a Christian man and loved to give to others.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Isham; son, Dean Isham and wife Connie; daughter, Cindy Johnson and husband Brian; grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Luke Johnson and wife Sabrina, Quinn Johnson, Caleb Isham and wife Kira; and two great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, 134 Dodge City Trail,
