Odelia Stephens – August 15, 2012


Odelia Stephens, 86, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012, at Paramount Baptist Church with Lance Herrington, median and senior adult pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Stephens was born May 31, 1926, in Prescott to John and Esther Graham.  She grew up in Prescott and later lived in San Angelo and Knox City where she and husband W.A. Stephens farmed.  They lived in Petersburg, Stratford and moved to Amarillo in 1970.  She served on the board of directors and as treasurer and secretary at Amarillo Senior Citizens.  Mrs. Stephens was a member and sang in the choir at Paramount Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Stephens.
Survivors include her son, Bill Stephens of Amarillo; a daughter, Pam Urbanczyk and husband Stephen of White Deer; a twin sister Ophelia Opperman of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Tamara Anderson, Shelby Stephens and Chelsea Urbanczyk; and one great-grandchild, Silas Stephens.
