Obie Lee – June 4, 2012

Obie Lee, 94 of Amarillo, died Monday, June 4, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Spur Memorial Cemetery with Bret McCasland and Eddie Lee officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Obie was born on February 20, 1918 in Whiteflat, Texas to Charlie Washington and Ollie Delma Lee.  He served in the U.S. Army for three years and 6 months.  He was a POW for 5 months in a German prison camp.
He was a dedicated Christian man.  He served as deacon and elder at Parkway Drive Church of Christ. He said the best years of his life were spent at Camp Blue Haven youth camp.
Obie loved his family and they loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters, and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Pat Lee of Amarillo; three daughters, Jeanie Waters and husband Bruce of Haskell, Judy Turnbaugh and husband Gary of Las Vegas, New Mexico at Camp Blue Haven; Becky McCasland and husband Bret of Amarillo; one son, Eddie Lee and wife Carol of Midland, Texas; one brother, Alvis Lee of Spur, Texas; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
