Nestor Sena, 87, of Amarillo died Monday, April 30, 2018.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Nestor was born April 29, 1931, to Luciano and Rosanna Sena.  He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953.  Nestor earned certificates of machine cabinet construction and automotive mechanic from Amarillo College in 1957.  He was a lifetime carpenter.

Nestor was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he married Carmen Flores on October 20, 1959.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Sadie Martinez, Frances Gutierrez, Mary Gomez and Pearl Duran.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carmen Sena, of Amarillo; two daughters, Norma Saldivar and husband Javier, and Darlene Saldivar and husband Ernesto, all of Amarillo; four sons, Steve Sena and wife Sequin, Henry Sena and wife Misti, Anthony Sena and wife Shelli and Jerome Sena and wife Sonia, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Rosa Ortega, of Albuquerque, NM and Della Gonzalez, of Amarillo; a brother, Albert Sena, of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren, Stevie Jr. Sena, Adrian Saldivar, Tessie Freeman, Brittani Garrett, Isaac Saldivar, Bryan Sena, Tyson Boatler, Derrick Saldivar, Alex Saldivar, Brandon Sena, Gabby Gutierrez, Fabian Saldivar, Andrew Sena, Gabriel Saldivar, Jazlyn Sena and Jude Sena; and 7 great-grandchildren, Haden Freeman, Avan Saldivar, Briar Freeman, Reid Saldivar, Amelia Garrett, Micah Freeman and Emmy Boatler.

The family suggests memorials to the Veterans Living Center, 6010 W Amarillo Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106.

The family will be gathering at 2143 South Fork, Amarillo, TX.

    have not seen Sena since I worked with him at Tilecraft in the early 80’as. Everyone loved him, one of the
    nicest people and best workers around. I know he will be missed.

    Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear, loved one. Death is hard to deal with. Even Jesus gave way to tears when Lazarus died (John 11:35). But our Heavenly Father views death as an enemy and promises to put an end to it (1 Cor 15:26).  We can look forward to being reunited with our loved ones again.
