Jesko, Nancy Obit PhotoNancy Edwards Jesko, 69, of Amarillo died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. As a Christian, she is now in heaven with God.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Hillside Christian Church, West Campus, with Tommy Politz officiating and Greg Corona leading music. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Nancy Edwards Jesko was born on Nov. 8, 1943, in Amarillo to Calvin and Anna Edwards and was the oldest of four children. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1962 and went on to attend the University of Texas. Nancy married Herman Andrew Jesko on May 29, 1964, in Austin, Texas. Nancy’s true passion was her husband and family; married to Herman for 49 years, she was the mother of four children and grandmother of twelve.
Nancy attended Hillside Christian Church and was passionate about serving others. She especially liked to cook for those in need and was known for her exceptional culinary skills. Nancy was a creative individual and enjoyed needlepointing, painting, sewing and photography. Nancy loved working in the garden, especially with her roses. As a Certified Master Gardner, she spent time volunteering at the Veteran’s Memorial Garden and Amarillo Botanical Gardens.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Herman; her son, Brent Jesko and wife Michelle, grandsons, Zach and Trevor, and granddaughter, Amber; her daughter, Kim Sturgeon and husband John, grandson, Jackson, and granddaughter, Alix; her son, Doug Jesko, grandsons, Smith, Bishop, and Noble; her son, Scott Jesko and wife Tyra, grandson, Aiden, granddaughters, Kynlee, Kaytlee, and soon to be Baby Jesko.
Nancy is also survived by two sisters, Jan Brorman and Karen Smith, and brother, Wayne Edwards, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Anna Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Carenet Crisis Pregnancy Center of Amarillo, 6709 Woodward St, Amarillo, TX 79106; or Faith City Mission, Faith City Mission, 401 W. Second Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101-1511.
