Myrna Loy Clark Smith

Myrna Loy Clark Smith, 87, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Jon Kohler officiating.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Myrna Loy was born May 5, 1935, in Amarillo, TX to William and Dora Clark.  She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953.  She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Myrna Loy married Berry Ford Smith on August 12, 1953, in Albuquerque, NM.

She worked at the NCO Club in Rapid City, SD, and several years at the PX at the Amarillo Air Base.  She also was a homemaker, and helped start and operate the family business, Texas Bearing Company.

Myrna Loy was a master gardener and volunteered at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens.  She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Myrna Loy immensely enjoyed many years of travel with family and friends.  She also had a passion for collecting special treasures she found at local estate sales.

Survivors include her husband, Berry Ford Smith, of Amarillo, TX; a son, Berry Doyle Smith and wife Joyce, of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Michelle McDaniel and husband Gary, of Amarillo, TX; a sister, Bonnie Huff and husband Bill, of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Anthony Smith and wife Stephanie, Adam Smith and wife Nicki, Jeannie George and husband Hunter, Katherine Quinlin and husband Tim, and Alyssa McDaniel; and ten great-grandchildren, Avery, Emersyn, Kylee, Brooklynn, Macee, Payton, Gavin, Katie, William, and Grant; and two nephews, Jason and Jonathan Huff.

Family visitation will be from 2-3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the funeral home.

The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation to The Legacy at Town Square, Kindred Hospice, Abide Senior Care, and Ruby Slippers Care.
