Surrounded by family and friends, Mona Lynne Davis, was reunited with the Lord on Thursday, May 3, 2018, after a long hard fight with cancer.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Kevin Oakley officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mona was born to Bob and Mary Drace on June 17, 1947, in Clovis, NM.  She spent most of her childhood and graduated high school in Abernathy, TX.  After high school, Mona relocated to Garden Grove, CA where she met the love of her life, Gary Davis.  They were happily married for over 50 years and resided in Amarillo, TX.

Mona worked at the VA Hospital in Amarillo for over 20 years and retired in 2008.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Davis; brother, Bill and wife Denise Drace, of Birmingham, AL; two children, Jaime and husband, Clifton Monroe, of Tulsa, OK, and Jeff and wife Jewell Davis, of Amarillo; five grandchildren, (two of which she had the pleasure of raising), Reaghan and husband Heath Stevens, Devin Carlisle, Tony and wife, Danielle Blanchard, of Hersey, MI, Jasmine Monroe, Hannah and Gary R. Davis; two great-grandchildren, Slayde and Blake Stevens; and one niece, Stephanie Drace, of Tampa, FL.

    Mona was, and still is, our Friend for Life. She made life fun for all those around her. Mona’s fight against cancer was a shining example of unwavering perseverance and grit. Oh how we wish she was still with us. We miss her and will always remember her lovingly. Surely, GOD has welcomed Mona into Heaven for eternal peace and rest.

    My cousin, my friend and confidant. Mona was one of a kind and will be missed more than I could ever express. She’s now with our family in Heaven, but we will be united again. God is good. We love you
