Molly Blanton Lowe – October 28, 2017

Molly finished her battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Saturday October 28th, 2017. She was born in Amarillo, TX on January 18th, 1959 to Dr. Everett and Peggy Blanton. Molly will be remembered by those who knew her as a fun loving, warm woman who always made those around her feel extra special. Molly was a graduate of Canyon High School and later Alvin Community College where she obtained her Registered Nurse license. Molly spent her professional career working as a Registered Nurse in variety of roles and fields. She most enjoyed working and for a cardiovascular surgeon in Abilene during which time she supported many heart procedures.  There are many patients across Texas and Tennessee who were cared for by Molly and they all remember her caring bedside manner and empathy towards them. Molly took great pride in how she cared for her patients and their families.
One of Molly’s greatest accomplishments was raising her three children, Ryan, Megan and Patrick. She was a devoted Mom to her children and delighted in every moment she got to spend with them. Molly was more than a Mom to her kids. She was a best friend and favorite companion. She raised her children in Abilene, TX where she created a warm and loving home for them. Molly was also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren which brought immense joy to her life. She loved spending every second possible with her grandbabies dancing, playing, and laughing with them. They will all carry precious memories of their Nana in their hearts.
Molly was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, and aunt to her family and will be remembered by all as the fun aunt who always made inappropriate jokes. She would brighten up a room as soon as she walked into it. Molly loved to be surrounded by her family and always served as a soft place for her nieces and nephews to fall on when needed.
Molly was a woman of fierce faith and believed whole heartedly in her Christian faith. She was a devoted follower of Christ and spent her time nourishing her faith at Central Church of Christ in Amarillo and previously at Highland Church of Christ in Abilene where she instilled the same faith in her kids. We grieve with hope because we know Molly is currently in the arms of her heavenly father.
Molly was preceded in death by her dad, Dr. Everett Blanton, grand-mother Arradel Powell and Grandfather Patrick Powell. She is survived by her Mother, Peggy Blanton, her children, Ryan Lowe and wife Darrah of San Antonio, Megan Neal and husband Drew of Amarillo, and Patrick and wife Taren of Dallas, TX. She is survived by her grandchildren Paige Ingram, Peyton Lowe, Oakley Lowe, Everett Neal and Haven Neal. She is also survived by her siblings Mike Blanton and wife Paula of Nashville, TN, Pat Blanton and wife Paula of Keller, TX, Cindy Zahodnik and husband Matt of San Antonio, TX and Tammy Schmidt of Amarillo, TX.
We will host a visitation on Wednesday evening between 5 – 7 pm at the Blanton at High Plains Children’s Home in Amarillo, TX.   We will celebrate Molly’s life at 10 am Thursday morning at the Central Church of Christ in Amarillo, TX.   Arrangements are being handled by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the High Plains Children’s Home.

To Megan, Patrick and Ryan and family
I was so saddened to hear about the passing of your mom. What a beautiful, vivacious woman she was. I worked with her for many years at the Pain Clinic in Abilene. She adored you children and talked about you all the time. How her face would light up. I pray for peace and comfort through this time of sorrow.

Molly and I went to school together and she was such a kind loving person. I’m so sorry for what she and her family has had to endure. We recently had our 40th class reunion and Molly was talked a great deal about, she was missed.

My heart is so sad to hear of Molly’s passing. She was quite a girl! One of the sweetest, most real people I have ever met. Abilene surely had one less bright star when she left. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
