Mildred Clawson

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mildred Clawson, a cherished wife, a loving mother, a devoted sister, a doting grandmother, and a beloved great-grandmother. She left us on October 15th, 2023, at the age of 93, after a life well-lived.

Mildred was a beacon of love and warmth, touching the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on May 24, 1930, she began her journey, and it was a journey of boundless compassion and unwavering dedication.

As a wife, she was the foundation of a loving home, providing support, comfort, and endless love to her family. Her unwavering commitment and endless devotion to her husband were an inspiration to all who witnessed their enduring love.

As a mother, Mildred was the embodiment of selflessness. Her children were her pride and joy; she poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and caring for them. She imparted invaluable life lessons, shaping their character and instilling in them the values of kindness and respect.

As a sister to her 8 siblings, she was a source of strength and an eternal confidante. Her bonds with her siblings were unbreakable, and they found solace in her wisdom and unfaltering support.

But perhaps her greatest joy was found in her roles as a grandmother to her 9 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren. The joy in her eyes when she held her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a testament to her profound love for them. She was a wellspring of stories, laughter, and endless hugs, creating a legacy of love that will forever endure in their hearts.

Mildred now joins her loved ones who have gone before her, including her son, Vernon Stafford, finding peace in eternal rest. Her surviving family members will cherish and treasure her memory, including Becky Hathaway, Randy & Kay Clawson, Vickie Scott, Jennifer & Mathew Bird, Stephanie Clawson & Joaquin Trujillo, Amanda & Michael Lunsford, Christa Hathaway, Lisa Roberts, Melissa Caviler, Kelly Bain, Karla Kinikin, and Kerrie Peoples.

The loss of Mildred is profound, but we take solace in the knowledge that her love, wisdom, and enduring kindness will continue to guide us. Her legacy of love will live on in our hearts and in the generations she has touched.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who knew and loved Mildred and for the love and support extended during this difficult time.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, October 19th, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox Ave., Dumas, TX.
