Michael Quintero, 60, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Michael was born Sept. 25, 1952, in Amarillo to Gloria and Rafael G. Quintero, Sr. He was a conductor for Santa Fe Railway for 16 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Korea.
Michael loved playing golf and being outside. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael G. Quintero, Sr. and Gloria Pinones Quintero.
Survivors include three children, Michael Joel Quintero, II of Cedar Park, Joshua Shae Quintero and wife Missy of Fairmont, Okla., and Jordan McCall Quintero of Amarillo; former spouse, Phyllis Quintero of Amarillo; a grandchild, Conner Logan Quintero of Fairmont; eight siblings, Gloria Jean Pedro and husband Pete of Lynn, Mass., Ralph Quintero, Jr. and wife Elida, Mario Quintero and wife Connie, Maria Q. Guerrero, Rachel Q. Hernandez and husband Frank, Helen Quintero and Ana Q. Cruz, all of Amarillo, and Jesus Ignacio Quintero of Bonner Springs, Kan.
The family will be at 7618 Farrell Drive.
