Michael Hannon Pollak

Michael Hannon Pollak, 79, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on November 17, 2024. 

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 21, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Michael was born in Temple, Texas on December 16, 1944, to Loretha Estelle (Hannon) and Adolf Stanley Pollak. He graduated from Temple High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University. 

Michael married Carol Hayhurst in Amarillo, Texas at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in 1980. Together they attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church both in Amarillo, Texas and Fort Worth, Texas. 

Michael spent the entirety of his working career with Santa Fe Railroad in labor relations. He enjoyed golf and watching the Dallas Cowboys – if they were playing well. In his younger years, he also liked to go snow skiing. He especially loved visiting Estes Park, Colorado; it was his favorite vacation spot. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loretha and Adolf Pollak; brother, Mark Pollak; son-in-law, Troy Cullum; 2 sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and one nephew. 

He is survived by his wife, Carol Pollak; daughter, Berkley Cullum; grandson, T.J. Cullum; granddaughter, Morgan Cullum; and many nieces and nephews.
