Melvin Jameson

Melvin Lawrence Jameson, 76, of Amarillo and formerly of Channing, died on Thursday, November 16, 2023. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Channing Cemetery with Mark Looney, pastor at Heritage Bible Church in Stratford, officiating.  Military rites will be by American Legion Post #224.   Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox

Melvin was born on August 26, 1947 in Dumas, Texas to Charles and Elma Jameson.  He graduated from Dumas High School and served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne during Vietnam.  He later served in the Reserves.  He had owned and operated his own dry wall construction business.  He never knew a stranger.  Melvin was a good man, loving father, and wonderful husband.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Anita Jameson of Amarillo; two daughters, Suzanna Garcia and husband Mario Jr. of Dalhart, Bonnie Kay Addison and Tania of Tucumcari, a son, Bobby Jameson and wife Raven of Dalhart; thirteen grandchildren, Deidre Hininger, Aaron Hininger, Kylie Hininger, Sierra Hininger, Jacob Barnes, Rose Hininger, Kenlea Jameson, Jett Franklin, Braden Jameson, Meredith Garcia, Maryah Cain, Buddy Garcia, and Mark Roman Garcia; and two great grandchildren, Leo Cain and Lorelai Garcia.
