Melva Louise Guillory, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 in Logan, Ohio.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Msgr. Harold Waldow of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Louise was born in Marlow, Okla. to Emmett and Martha Sain. She married Paul Guillory and to them were born five children. In her early years, she worked at Woolco, Kmart, and later at Amarillo College. She was a professional AKC breeder of Pomeranians and owner of Guillory’s Kennels.
She was active in the St. Catherine’s Circle of Altar Society, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was known and loved for being a feisty and independent woman who in early years tirelessly provided for her children. Her love of her family and the Lord were most important to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandsons, Joey and Thomas; and a great-grandson, Isaac.
Survivors include three daughters, Paula Walker and husband Doug of Whitney, Karen Walters and husband Joe of Glendale, AZ, and Sabrina Modzelewski and husband Bill of Logan, Ohio; two sons, Paul Guillory and wife Linda and Tony Guillory and wife Denise, all of Lubbock; three brothers, Thurman Sain and wife Glenda of Amarillo, Benny Sain and wife Diane of San Angelo, and Donny Sain and wife Cathy of Tempe, AZ; two sisters, Ella Sain of Amarillo and Margaret Brock and husband Jimmy of Blairsville, GA; twelve grandchildren, Jeremy, Marie, Casey, Adam, C.J., Erica, Ashley, Amanda, Rachel, Hanna, Daniel, and Adam; and five great-grandchildren, Kyndal, Talen, Ryker, Gunner and Julian.
