Melissa “Missy” Ann Liles was born on April 7th, 1969, in Canyon, Texas. She was the daughter of Tom and Fran Fletcher of Claude. Melissa married the love and joy of her life, Robin Liles, and also gained a son, Schuyler, on February 26th, 2005.
Melissa Graduated from Claude High School. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Lubbock Christian University and then studied at Texas Women’s University also. She worked at libraries in Borger, Clarendon, and Amarillo during her career and was a lifelong book lover.
Robin and Melissa are Members of the Central Church of Christ in Amarillo, where they met during an event. Her love of Jesus shined, and her kindness, love, and empathy for others left a lasting impression on those who knew her. Melissa enjoyed cooking for and camping with her husband and son. She was passionate about her family and loved seeing them all in one place for birthdays and holidays.
She was a devoted, enthusiastic aunt to her nieces and nephews, loving them as if they were her own. Melissa was very active in her church and enjoyed traveling, skiing, and game nights with friends. Even through her own medical issues and hardships, she fought to stay positive and continuously did her best to care for the people she loved.
Melissa passed away on January 18th, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her dad, Thomas Fletcher.
She is survived by her husband, Robin Liles, and son Schuyler. Her mother, Fran Fletcher. Her siblings Mary Lewis, Bill Fletcher, Amy Horn, and husband Powder, and Julia Camp. She was blessed by many loving friends, nieces, nephews, and one great-nephew.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, in the chapel at Central Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
