Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount, Amarillo.
Mrs. Werner was born May 31, 1933, in Painesville, Ohio to Clifford and Margaret Tuttle. She married Herb Werner on November 30, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio. They were married for 60 years until his death on July 29, 2013. Mrs. Werner was an exemplary homemaker, and enjoyed working for Hallmark stores in Lubbock, TX and Littleton, CO for many years. She retired in 1997 when she and Herb moved to Amarillo, where she lived for 20 years. She was a member of the Hallmark Ornament Collectors Club for several years. Her hobbies included collecting Christmas ornaments and Barbie dolls. She enjoyed reading her daily devotionals and attending family get togethers. She was a kind spirit and is deeply loved by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Werner’s survivors include two sons, Stewart Werner (and wife Norma) of Amarillo and Jeffrey Werner (and wife Jopa) of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Karen Taylor (and husband Scott) of Berthoud, Colorado, and Kathy Wolf (and husband Steve) of Firestone, CO; ten grandchildren, Ross Werner, David Werner (Jessa), Thomas Werner (Courtney), Christopher Werner, Cassandra Vallera (Will), Melissa Day (Josh), Christine Vanderhoof (Justin), Josh Wolf (Michelle), Zach Wolf and Amanda Bienemann (Brian); and 14 great grandchildren. She is survived by a brother, David Tuttle of Dayton, OH, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very dear friend Marjorie Keys of Lubbock, TX, who she met in Painesville, OH when they were 5 years old. They remained close friends for over 79 years, sometimes living in the same town, and many of those years living miles apart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ruth Slitor, and brothers George Tuttle and Paul Tuttle.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the American Heart Association.
