After Bill retired, Mary became active in helping with Richard’s Boy Scout troop, and Eastern Star. They joined Wesley United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, held positions on the board, and helped with the annual Salad Luncheon fundraiser.  She retired from Missouri Delta Community Medical Center as the Patient Accounts Manage in 1999.
