Marjorie Grant Barrett – February 14, 2018

Marjorie Grant Barrett, 84, of Amarillo, Texas passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel,  Charles Jones, senior pastor at Journey Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Boulevard.
Marjorie was born April 14, 1933 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Marie & Earl Grant. Marjorie and her parents moved from Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Amarillo, Texas when she was 2 years old.  She loved her childhood and often reminisced about the joy that filled her home and her life as a child.  She was homecoming queen and a 1950 graduate of Amarillo High School. She married Ronald Johnson in 1950.   Together, they had three wonderful children, Johnny, Connie and Jim.  Marjorie took pride in being a mother, homemaker and an employee.
Her career was spent as a secretary for several different organizations.  Marjorie and her second husband, Dudley Barrett, owned Diamond B Equipment.  Marjorie’s greatest legacy was her unwavering love of the Lord.  She encouraged her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to always be themselves because they were made perfect in the eyes of the Lord.
Marjorie is survived by her sons; Johnny Johnson and wife Alice of Amarillo, Jim Johnson of Amarillo; a grandson Jeremy Bradford and wife Danielle of Canyon; a granddaughter, Breezy Adams and husband Matt of Amarillo; a grandson, Blair Johnson and wife Melanie of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Berkley Chapman and husband Justin of Canyon; a grandson Tanner Clark and wife Krissy of Canyon; twelve great-grandchildren; and sisters, Janet Grant of Amarillo and Sherry Brown and husband Bobby of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Earl Grant; husbands, Ronald Johnson and Dudley Barrett; daughter, Connie Clark; brother, Tom Grant; sister, Sandra Skinner.

    Jim and family, I am sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you. I remember meeting her years ago while working at DRR.
