Marilyn Jo Beam, 88, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Memorial services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at First Baptist Church. Family burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Marilyn was born September 20, 1936 in Wellington, TX to Floyd and Ferne (Thompson) Dickey. Following graduation from Wellington High School she attended Texas Tech University.
On July 3, 1955, she married Tommy W. Beam. They were able to celebrate 50 years of marriage with their family in Red River. Marilyn and Tommy especially enjoyed traveling. Fond memories were trips to Israel and Europe.
Marilyn liked to read, draw, and watch movies, but her heart was with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It was exciting for Marilyn to see three of her grandchildren’s birth. While raising her family she worked twenty-one years for Amarillo ISD as a secretary at Crockett Middle School. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Her husband, Tommy, preceded her in death on November 29, 2017. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne Axe.
Survivors include her children, Brent Beam and wife Shelly, of Amarillo, TX, Leigh Ann Newman and husband Jeff, of Tulsa, OK, and Linda Davison and husband Brandon of Paragould, AR; grandchildren, Daniel Bulkley and wife Olivia, and his children, Landen and Kylee Jo, of Paragould, AR, Brittain Beam and wife Tiffany, and their children Maddy, Caden, and Alexis, all of Amarillo, TX, Conner Beam, of Houston, TX, Rachel Newman and Matthew Newman, both of Tulsa, OK, Emily Bulkley of NC, Andrew Bulkley of NC, Grace Bulkley of Paragould, AR, and Greg and Kiefer Waller, of Amarillo, TX; brother-in-law, Jim Axe of Lubbock, TX; cousin, Steve Hunter and wife Susan of Amarillo, TX.
