Marian Louise Bingham, 94, went to be with Jesus on Friday, May 17th, 2024. She was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma on November 10, 1929, to Burl and Linnie Akers, and had one sister, Doris Emolyn.
Marian went to school in Amarillo during her later years and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1947. Later that same year, she met her future husband Floyd J. Bingham, and was married in 1950. They were happily married for 67 years.
After they married, they moved to Lubbock, Texas so Floyd could pursue his engineering degree at Texas Tech. After a few years, they finally settled in Amarillo, Texas where they began building their lives.
Marian's lifelong dream was to be a homemaker, to raise her children in a loving home, and to be a support for her husband. She took pride in caring for her household and was very gifted in keeping her home running smoothly. She also enjoyed various hobbies. She loved to paint, snow and water ski, and absolutely loved sewing with her mother and sister. She was also an avid reader.
Among her many hobbies, she was also a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church, where she and Floyd were involved in many aspects of ministry and activities for many years.
Her and Floyd loved to travel, spending most of their vacations in Colorado with her family, but also loved seeing new places with her extended family as well. Whether home, or away, it was her greatest joy just to be around her family and loved ones.
Marian was the epitome of servanthood. She knew what it was like to be a selfless soul, always putting others first. She taught us the meaning of sharing Christ's love in a way that brought glory to Him. She loved the Lord with all her heart and served Him well until the day she was called home.
She raised 3 loving children, Deborah Ann Meadors and her husband Dan, Jay Scott Bingham and his wife, Laronda, and Dena Kay Rattan Pool and her husband Jeffory Pool. She had 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Bingham, and her sister Doris Emolyn Oliver.
