Zavala Obit PicMaria Dolores Zavala, 60 of Stratford, died Sunday, September 4, 2016.

Rosary services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox.  Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dumas.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox

Maria was born on April 28, 1956 in Big Spring, Texas to Ramon and Magdalena Jurado.  She graduated from Stratford High School in1975 and had worked as a CNA for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Vicente Zavala of Mexico; a daughter, Lisa Jurado of Stratford; two sons, Vicente Zavala III of Stratford and Steven Zavala of Dumas; a sister, Ramona Perez of Dumas; and eleven grandchildren.

    Madrina I will always remember your smile … I’ll cherish the many times we talked and the many times you reminded me the Lord was grand and not to loose faith when I was so ill … Madrina I love you but I just can’t make myself go to your funeral I just can’t say good bye I want to hold your memory as you where …..
