Marcos "Mark" Mendez

Marcos “Mark” Mendez, 66, of Amarillo, TX passed away February 27, 2025.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1210 SE 11th. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Mark was born June 13, 1958 in Amarillo, TX to Pedro Mendez and Jesusita Flores. Mark was man of strong faith who loved his family fiercely. Mark raised two boys who he admired and devoted his life to. He continued his passion for them by offering them life and parenting advice throughout their adult lives. His granddaughters were his pride and joy. He loved to watch them play softball and have them over for slumber parties. As a younger man he was quite the athlete and had a smile that most could not resist. He also had many friends who he kept up with throughout the years and was known for being very loyal. There weren’t many who could find reasons to dislike him throughout his life and it showed by the reputation he had in his community. Mark will be greatly missed by his two boys and his five granddaughters as well as his brothers and sisters and his countless nieces, nephews, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his Father Pedro Mendez and his Mother Jesusita Mendez.

Mark is survived by his two sons Marcos Mendez and wife Whitley Mendez and Matthew Mendez and wife Shaneque Mendez as well as his five granddaughters Mikaela Mendez, Chloey Mendez, Gentri Mendez, Madilyn Mendez and Lucy Mendez. He also leaves behind his four brothers and sisters Pete Mendez, Rudy Mendez, Gloria Valdez and Christy Mendez.
