Lucia Flores, 66, of Amarillo, Texas went home to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2024.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 19, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Inurnment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Lucia was born in Meadow, Texas on November 18, 1957, to Jose Flores and Agustine DeLeon. She got married to Juan Barrera on December 22, 1972, in Plainview, Texas and later moved to Amarillo, Texas. They had 3 kids, 7 grandkids, and 5 great grandkids whom she loved very much.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and spent many hours studying his word and singing worship to him. She loved her dogs and treated them like her kids. She always looks forward to football season to watch her Dallas Cowboys play. She also loved to be outside, walking and riding her bike all over Amarillo. She loved to joke, laugh, and spend time with her family. She was cared for by both of her daughters as she fought until the end as the fighter she was, she can now rest in the arms of Jesus Christ. She will be very missed.
She has entered the gates of heaven to join her parents, sister Juanita Flores, son Juan Barrera Jr, and her best friend, Juan Barrera Sr.
Survivors include daughter, Estefana Perez and husband Gabe Perez, Daughter Alice Jimenez and John Saldana, Grandkids, Gabriela Vaquez and husband Joevanny Vazquez, Anthony Perez, Andrew Jimenez and wife Clarissa Romero, Isaac Jimenez, Fabian Barrera and wife Chasity Guillen, Adrian Barrera, Isabella Barrera. Great grandkids, Julian Jimenez, Jaden Jimenez, Amaya Jimenez, Isaiah Barrera, Jasmine Barrera. Siblings, Josefa Flores, Olivia Flores, Robin Benauides, Julie Perez, Jose Flores and wife Christy and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank BSA Harrington Cancer Center for taking care of her for 3 ½ years and BSA Hospice for taking care of her the last 4 weeks of her life.
