Lou Ann Dickerson Hall, Ph.D, M.Ed, age 88, of Amarillo, passed away 13th, day of January, 2025.
Lou Ann was born June 11th, 1936, in Gould, Oklahoma to Argus Bryan “Abe” and Cleo Dickerson. She grew up in various towns in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle and graduated from Borger High School. Dr. Hall was a licensed psychotherapist, holding degrees from Southern Methodist University at Dallas, Texas, the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, and National Christian University of Missouri. She served for 17 years as faculty member and Behavioral Science Coordinator for Texas Tech University School of Medicine. She studied and practiced Neuro Emotional Anti-sabotage Technique and Neuro Emotional Technique under Dr. Scott Walker of Encinitas, California. As a medical school faculty member, Dr. Hall trained resident physicians and medical students in Behavioral Sciences. During her time at TTU she also researched PMS and established a PMS Clinic. She spent 27 years in private practice as a psychologist and Training Consultant in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Minesota. She was inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame in 1995. She earned numerous awards for her service and contributions to her profession, served on several boards and committees of professional associations and educational institutions, and served as panel member on a weekly television talk show. She acted as organizer and leader or keynote speaker for almost 150 seminars and conferences. Dr. Hall was a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She was Certified in the fields of Neuro Emotional Technique and Neuro Emotional Anti-sabotage Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming (Master Practitioner), Advanced Hypo-Therapy, Transformational Kinesiology, Guided Imagery, Integrated Awareness Technique, and was a Certified Consultant for Phase I, II, III, Performax, Inc.
Private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Lou Ann Dickerson Hall is survived by her sons Mark W. King (Robin) of Southlake, TX; daughter Suanne M. King Hardie of Amarillo, TX; Michael S. King (Amy) of Yukon, OK; grandchildren Zachary, Christopher (Micalyn), Chloe, Riley and Carter; Great Grandchildren Willow, Jameson, Winry and Juniper; Sister-in-law Jan Dickerson; Nephew Steve ; Nieces Laurie and Mary Ann. Lou Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother Donald E. Dickerson.
