Lois Lee Bivolcic, 67, of Bushland, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Lois was born on June 8, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan to Ida and Archie Higdon. She attended Purdue University and obtained her Associate degree in Nursing in 1988, then attended Valparaiso University and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Science in 1991. She had been a Registered Nurse and worked in Labor and Delivery, NICU, Pediatrics/Pediatric ICU, she did some travel nursing, and was an instructor and Director of the LVN program at Frank Phillips College. She was the recipient of the Outstanding Nurse Recognition award March of Dimes, GreaterChgo. chapter 1992. She loved being a nurse and taking care of people.
She married Brian Bivolcic on October 11, 1985, in Michigan City, Indiana. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching football and Nascar racing. She enjoyed gardening. She loved animals and showing her dogs.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nora Burns, brother Ralph Higdon.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Bivolcic, of the home; 2 daughters Cher Phillips, Lorrie (Joe) Mosqueda, 1 son Eric (Dawna) Phillips, 5 granddaughters Amelia Noordenbos, Bailey Longoria, Nataleigh Phillips, Ivy Mosqueda, and Irelynn Mosqueda. 4 grandsons Audie Winkleblack, Mateo Mosqueda, Joey Mosqueda, Jr., and Ian Mosqueda. 2 great grandchildren Silas and Ella-Kay Longoria. 1 sister Amy Petroski, 1 brother Jeff (Evonne) Higdon, 2 sisters-in-law Dawn (Don) Eason, Roberta Walters and 1 brother-in-law Tim Burns, several nieces and nephews, her dog Tootsie, and special friends Mia Hunter and Dr. Mayra Ladd.
