Lloyd James Falke, 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on December 18, 1929, in Billings, OK, to Otto and Regina (Neuerburg) Falke.
On February 3, 1951, Lloyd married the love of his life, Virginia Charlene Tramba, in Cherryvale, KS. He served in the National Guard during the Korean War, earning the rank of Sergeant, and later joined the Army Reserves for four years in Parsons, KS.
In the mid-1950s, Lloyd took flight training and enjoyed flying small-engine airplanes before moving to Texas. He had a lifelong passion for aviation and motorcycles—starting with Harleys and later transitioning to Honda Goldwings. He had a knack for fixing small engines and could repair just about anything. Lloyd was a devoted member of Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church for 38 years, where he served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years; his sister, Kathy (Chet) Williams; three sons, Randy (Cindy) Falke, Terry Falke, and Ken (Cheryl) Falke; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends he considered family.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Janell Yeubanks and Wilma Temple; his brothers, Tommy Falke and David Falke; and his daughter-in-law, Mary Falke.
A family visitation will be held from 6-7:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79109. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church, 3315 Hancock, Amarillo, Texas 79106. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
