Linda Beth Kelley Thomas

Linda Beth Kelley Thomas found eternal peace and rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born August 11, 1938, in Borger, Texas.  Linda who was an accomplished scholar and athlete, graduated from Stinnett High School and her beautiful voice afforded her the opportunity to attend Texas Tech University on a voice and oboe scholarship.  Linda loved singing for Jesus and sang at many churches and events alongside her best friend, Linda Ford, who accompanied her with the piano.

Linda married the love of her life and faithful companion, Bert Thomas, in December 1958 and together they built a home and family for the past 64 years. Linda’s greatest love was her family.  She relished in being a wife, mother, and Gran.  Linda’s home was filled with love & laughter and many friends enjoyed her gift of hospitality through the years.

Linda found many treasured friends through her involvement as a “Pink Lady” at the High Plains Baptist Hospital and she influenced and encouraged young brides and grooms when she served as the Wedding Coordinator at Trinity Fellowship Church for several years.  Those who knew Linda would say she was beautiful, creative, and fun-loving.  Linda stayed active in various other activities and organizations in both Clifton, TX, and Southfork, CO.  She had a heart of service and was an extension of God’s love to those she served.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Naomi Kelley and her siblings Charles Kelley & June Christian.  She leaves behind her loving husband, Bert Thomas and her four children: Kelley and Lisa Thomas (Mountain Home, Arkansas), Bill and Timma Gruhlkey (Wildorado, TX), Doug and Lori Palmer (Keller, TX), Kevin and Cristy Mozingo (Houston, TX) along with 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with one due to be born soon.

The family invites all who knew and loved Linda to a celebration of life service at Christ’s Community Fellowship Church, 607 Coke Street, Vega, Texas at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022.  A viewing will also be held from 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesday, August 3 at Christ’s Community Fellowship Church. Burial will be in the Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, following the service.  Arrangements are being cared for by the staff of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
