Lillie Jewel "Teddie" Stovall Taylor – September 16, 2017

Lillie Jewel “Teddie” Stovall Taylor of Amarillo died Saturday, September 16, 2017. She was 107.
A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Chapel at 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Kevin Deckard of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. The family plans a private interment. Arrangements are with Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Teddie was born near Hubbard, Texas, on June 26, 1910, a birthday she shares with her great-great niece Megan, 80 years Teddie’s junior.
She was one of nine children born to George Henry Stovall and Ruth Caroline Beevers Stovall — a line of five boys first, then four girls. She is the last of the nine to pass.
Teddie married JD Taylor on November 22, 1935, at San Jacinto Methodist Church in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1995.
She later married Eldon Plunk on July 26, 1997. The marriage lasted nearly 11 years, until his death in 2008.
Teddie is survived by the next generation of Stovall nieces and nephews: Velma Stovall Killion of Gaithersburg, Maryland; Carlene Stovall Petree of Clovis, N.M.; Jaton McGaughy of Amarillo; Judith Askew of Amarillo; Carolyn Courtney of Plainview; Nancy Thompson of Winters; Linda Willmon of Amarillo; John Ross of Plainview; Susan Dunavant of Floydada.
She also is survived by 32 great nieces and nephews, nearly 50 great-great nieces and nephews and almost 20 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Hospice Care of the Southwest and the staff and nurses of Brookdale Sleepy Hollow, where Teddie lived the last four and a half years.
The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, www.umcor.org; Heal the City, 609 S. Carolina, Amarillo, TX, 79106; or High Plains Food Bank, 815 Ross Street, Amarillo, TX, 79102.

Such a beautiful sweet soul. The most non-judgmental caring Christian I have met. She welcomed myself and my family as her own and never missed a chance to tell you how special you are and that Jesus loves us all.
