Lewis Calton Morrison, 83, of Amarillo, TX died Friday, June 7, 2024.
Family visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, in the East Mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The youngest child of Virgil and Zola Morrison, Lewis was born in Spur, TX. His family lived in Claude, TX for several years before moving to Amarillo. Lewis graduated from Amarillo High School and went on to join the Marine Corps Reserves.
He started his family with Farris Ann and the birth of their daughter, Amanda “Mandy” in 1969, and their son, Mark, in 1970.
A lifelong Amarillo resident, Lewis was a farmer for many years before changing careers to establish and operate Action Print in Amarillo from 1983 until his passing.
Lewis enjoyed golfing… a lot! He and his wife of twenty-seven years, Mary, loved to travel and play golf. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying with his great friend, Bonner. Later on, with son, Mark, they were able to share many flights together.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy (2016), his wife, Mary (2015), and all of his siblings.
He leaves behind his son, Mark, who lives in Marfa, TX; and his friend, Sammye Stark, of Amarillo, TX. Although they aren’t technically family, Andrea Norman and Kymberly Dunning were as close as any daughters could be to their “Papa.” Lewis will be dearly missed by so many.
