Leonor Rodriguez Perez, 93, of Amarillo died Friday, November 2, 2018.
Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Francisco Perez as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Leonor was born July 1, 1925, in Durango, Mexico to Emilio and Benita Rodriguez.
Leonor worked in a curio shop in Juarez, Mexico when a soldier walked in and they fell in love. They married and moved to Amarillo in 1945. She was a homemaker and was a helper to influential ladies in Amarillo like Doris Roger’s and Dot Line who loved her dearly.
She was well known in the Hispanic community and as a great servant of God to Our Lady of Guadalupe church. She was a Charismatic catholic and loved to praise and worship God, she was always singing!
Everyone knew if they needed a prayer warrior, she was the one to call. She was a grand lady loved by everyone and made an impact for the kingdom of God!
God rewarded her by taking her home in a gracious way. She leaves a great legacy! All glory to God!
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Manuel Perez, Sr.; and two brothers, Leonzo and Feliciano Rodriguez.
Survivors include two sisters, Elena Magallanes and Anastacia Renteria, both of Amarillo; a brother, Alejandro Rodriguez, of Wilmington, California; six children, Manuel Perez, Jr. and wife Rebecca, Gloria Perez, Robert Perez and wife Donell, Elva Villa and husband Fred, Leticia Botkin and husband Rick, and Eddie Perez and wife Lea; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 41 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will be at 1704 S. Highland.
