Leona Adkins Lee, 91, of Amarillo, TX passed away April 23, 2024.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 26, 2024 in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Leona was born May 27, 1932 to Mary and Joseph Juhasz in Milk River, Alberta Canada. She came to the United States in 1949 and married Bill Adkins of Altus, OK. They ran a custom harvest business for 30 years and made some lifelong friends along the way and worked for very nice people. They made their home in Amarillo, Texas until Bill passed away in 1981. The following year in 1982, Leona married longtime rancher H.J. Lee of McAlister, NM. H.J. retired in 1994 and they bought a home in Clovis, NM. He passed away in 2007 at the age of 90. H.J. and Loena were happily married for 25 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents; former spouses Bill Adkins and H.J. Lee; sister, Anne Dustan; and brother John Juhasz.
Leona is survived by sisters, Jolaine Wagg of Calgary; brother, Joe Juhasz, Jr. of Lethbridge, Alberta; several nieces and nephews; 2 stepfamilies; Bill’s grandchildren and their families; and H.J.’s family. She thought a lot of them all and visited regularly.
Bill and Leona made arrangements years ago to be buried side by side in Llano Cemetery.
