LD Sherman, 95, of Amarillo, TX died on September 10, 2022.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Corky Holland officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
LD was born in Oklahoma on September 11, 1926, to Lea and Jack Sherman. He graduated with his BS from Texas Tech.
LD was a WWII Veteran, he served in the United States Army.
LD married his loving wife, Liz, on November 5, 1949.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Harriet Elizabeth “Liz” Sherman.
He is survived by his son, Larry “Doug” Sherman (Sherry), of Amarillo, TX; grandson, Jared Sherman (Allison), of Amarillo, TX; granddaughter, Eve; nieces, Patricia, Patty, and Virginia; nephews, Robert, and James; best friend since 1941, General Grayson Tate; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and many great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
