Laura Hazel Margarett McPhail Prosser – October 17, 2012

Laura Hazel Margarett McPhail Prosser, 92, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012, in the chapel at Church of Christ at The Colonies at 4500 Wesley Road.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Hazel was born February 16, 1920, to John Franklin and Lou Ella Driskill McPhail.  She taught piano, and later owned and operated Amarillo Imported Car Company.  Hazel helped design the new kitchen at Central Church of Christ where she was a long time member.  She headed up the Sunshiners Group at Central for many years and was a steadfast soldier in the Lord’s Army.  She was known as “Mimi” to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Prosser, Jr. and her parents.
Survivors include a son, Kermit Michael Prosser and wife Mary Dee of Lubbock, and their children, Lisa Niday and husband Michael of Denver, Colorado, and her daughter, Cherolyn Hallett and husband David, and their children, David, Wyatt, Codee and Kayla, all of Aurora, Colorado; two grandsons, Michael Earle “Chip” Prosser of Lubbock and John Prosser and wife Pam, and their son, Chance, all of Lubbock and step-grandsons, Joshua and Jeremiah Hanson of Houston; a daughter, Marsha DiAne Prosser Price and husband Tommy of Amarillo and their children, Monica Miller of Walnut Creek, California and Martin Eric and wife Irma and their son, Jonathan Miller, all of Pleasant Hills, California.
The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children’s Home, 11220 Chapman Drive, Amarillo 79118.
