Larry Dean Reid

Larry Dean Reid, 73, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Larry was born November 13, 1950, to Clarence Vernon (Jack) Reid and Ruby Nadine Drennan Reid in Lamesa, TX, where he grew up. He minored in Art and majored in English at West Texas State University for two years.

He married Desiree Eilene Reid on June 20, 1998. She passed away on October 20, 2018.

Larry worked briefly for Phillips 66 and then at ASARCO most of his life as a steel fabricator. Larry was a member of the Steel Workers Association. He loved to play golf, ride Harley’s, draw, hike, and play pool. Larry also enjoyed going to Palo Duro Canyon and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sennie Rhoades.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather Carter and husband Shawn, of Amarillo, TX; brother, James Vernon (Jim) Reid and wife Linda, of Texarkana; sister, Kay Witcher, of Odessa, TX; two grandchildren, Dakota and Ashley Carter; and two great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Ballew (7) and Elena Ballew (5).
