Koletyo Ferrin – March 5, 2013


Koletyo Ferrin, 79, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2013.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
She was born on May 29, 1933, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to William Guy Belvin and Ruby Josephine Belvin in a family of five girls and two boys.  She graduated with honors from Hill’s Business University to go on to work for Oklahoma Gas and Electric and various banks in Oklahoma, Colorado, and the First National Bank of Amarillo.
Tyo, as called by her friends (and Nana by her three grandchildren), was a devoted housewife and very kind hearted mother.  She always had the table set with a fine meal for all to enjoy, and spent many a day volunteering for the High Plains Baptist Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bob Ferrin.
Survivors include her son, Robert S. Ferrin, his wife Janet Ferrin, and two grandsons, Jonathan Robert Ferrin, and Mitchell Holmes; her son, Stephen C. Ferrin, his wife LaRhonda Ferrin, and granddaughter, Stephanie Nichole Ferrin De Vuyst; four sisters, Lahoma Griffin, Lavora Hessel, Billie Jo Chrysler, Sonia Mae Rucker; and two brothers, Wendell Belvin and Jim Belvin.
The family requests any donations be made to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79105; or to Ware Assisted Living Center, 400 SW 14th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79101.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
