Kevin Sides, 66, of Amarillo, TX died Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
Kevin Samuel Sides was born on leap year February 29, 1956, in Cheyenne, OK to Sam and Bula May (Clay) Sides.
Kevin grew up on the family farm in the Durham, OK community. He graduated with 14 students in 1974, bragging that he was in the top 10 of his class. Kevin attended college at Panhandle State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Kevin has always looked back that his college years were the most “alive” time of his life.
Kevin married Rachel Conner in 1980. They had two children, Christina and Stephanie. Two of the most wonderful and lovable children ever known to man. (Yes, over the top, but it’s true.)
Kevin was confirmed and became a member of the Episcopal church in 1992.
Before retiring, Kevin worked many years in customer service. He had an out-going personality, taking the time to meet people everywhere he went. He paid attention to the smallest details and loved telling a good story.
Kevin is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cleo Clay, who he believed was the greatest person he knew; his parents; and one brother, Gary. He is survived by his daughters, Christina and husband Davy Brown of Stratford, and Stephanie and husband Trey Puckett of Oklahoma City, OK; grandsons, Nathan and Simon Brown; and brothers, Dan of Durham, OK, Charles of Woodward, OK, and Bill of Weatherford, OK. Kevin has an amazing number of nephews and nieces and their children.
A memorial service is planned for the spring 2023.
