Kellie Marie (Jones) Mcmordie

Kellie Marie (Jones) McMordie passed away on August 27, 2023, after a brief illness. She was 69.

Services will be at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Columbarium in Amarillo at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 31, 2023. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Kellie was born on February 19, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Warren C. and Mary Jo Jones, joining two siblings. Kellie and her sisters grew up in Houston while enjoying many summers in the Rio Grande Valley surrounded by an extended family of beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Following graduation from Spring Woods High School, Kellie moved to the Texas Panhandle. She became a surgical tech at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, where she discovered nursing was what she wanted as a career – to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Kellie married Dr. Billy Paul Kincaid and welcomed a daughter, Kay. She later moved to Amarillo with her daughter. Kellie attended West Texas A&M University, where she earned a nursing degree. As an RN, she was the head rotating nurse at BSA on the heart and neuro team for several years. While enjoying her passion for nursing, she met and married Charlie McMordie.

Kellie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Elizabeth Mary Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Kay Kincaid; her sister Nora Jones Stidham and husband David; nephews Nathan Stidham and Evan Stidham and wife Jen.
