Karl Henry Berge

August 26, 1962 — November 17, 2024

Karl Henry Berge “Berge”, 62, of Amarillo, died Sunday, November 17, 2024.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 25, 2024 at The Loft Church, 4400 S. Georgia. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Karl was born on August 26, 1962 in El Paso, Texas to Pauline and Vernon Berge. He received his associates degree from T.S.T.I. Karl had worked at Asarco for over 30 years and was currently working at Pantex for the last 10 years. Although he lived in Amarillo since 1979, his love was always for his hometown, El Paso. He was always proud to say “Passage to the North” is where his heart is.

Karl had a passion for playing his drums and listening to 1980’s rock music as well as attending as many concerts with his friends as he could. Karl also had a love for bringing joy to people who wanted their aquariums maintained. He never knew a stranger and was always happy to introduce his friends to one another. “Hi, I’m Karl with a K.”

He could make plans every weekend to be with someone he loved and enjoy good conversation while making memories. Karl was the hardest worker you will ever meet. He had an unforgettable smile and different sayings that we will all say out loud, “Don’t be scared”, “Put the petal to the metal”, and “Look Lo!”

The one thing he was most proud of was his daughter, Kamrey. His world was always better when she was around him. His patience was tested by his fiancé’ Carla, but he always found a way to steer her in the right direction. He was always happy to walk into the LOFT Church and eager to take notes no matter who was delivering the message that day. April, 2024 he was baptized and couldn’t have been happier to share with others the joy he found in Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his father Vernon F. Berge and mother Maria Pauline Berge, siblings Trini Castro, Jesus Medina, and Ruth Berge.

Berge is survived by his daughter Kamrey Berge, siblings Vernon T. Berge of El Paso, Tx., Maggie Johnson of Sanderson, Tx., Al Medina of Dallas, Tx. and Minnie Walker, of El Paso, Tx., and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles throughout the country.
