June Callahan Pipkin, died Jan. 9, 2013, at the age of 94.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in St. Andrews Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jo Roberts Mann, rector, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
June was born in Jacksboro, Texas on May 30, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. S.O. Callahan, Jr. She attended Amarillo High School and Amarillo College. On Dec. 1, 1939, she married H.C. Pipkin, Jr.
If anything should be said of June, she was always a lady. She enjoyed being creative, traveling with friends and her many years (76 to be exact) in the Amarillo Junior League. She loved working for Don R. Reid Interior Designs, primarily taking her pay in beautiful antiques and fabrics.
She is survived by a daughter, Boo Pipkin-Kemp of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Shawn Maurice of Hutto, Texas, Shannon Leigh Halley of Austin, Texas and Korey Carl Callahan Kemp of Round Rock, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Eliza, Txai and Sophie; her extended family of Callahans, Gayle Callahan, Simmie Callahan V, Cody Haney, Hunter Callahan and Lee Crow who faithfully and patiently cared for her until her death.
