Julia Olivas

Julia Olivas, 100, of Vega, TX passed away on October 14, 2024.

Rosary will be said at 6:30 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Vega. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 18, 2024, at the church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega. 

Julia was born October 20, 1923, in El Paso, TX to Nicolas Olivas and Octaviana Chavira. She married Fausto Ruiz in 1940 and together they were married for 42 years before his passing in 1982. She was a homemaker. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fausto Ruiz; sons, Ramon, Jesus, and Margarito; daughter, Elvira; and several siblings. 

Julia is survived by daughters, Mila Rivera of Vega, TX, Lourdes Olivas of El Paso, TX, and Beatriz Segovia of Vega, TX; son, Fausto Ruiz Jr. of Vega, TX; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
