Judy Darlene Volden

Judy Darlene Volden, 80, of Dumas, died on Friday, April 11, 2025. 

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox with Pastor Mark England officiating. Private burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Judy was born on December 18, 1944 in Hill City, Kansas. She graduated from Liberal High School. She had worked for several grocery stores in Dumas and then became the invoicing supervisor at Monfort until retirement. She loved to quilt and sew. She also enjoyed traveling to the mountains and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She married Gerald “Gary” Volden on October 2, 1970 in Perryton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda and Chester “Sam” Thomas; a brother, Ivan Lee; and her husband of 44 years, Gary Volden.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Blackshear Winther and husband Neilson of Portsmouth, Virginia; two sons, Daren Volden and wife Trena of Dumas and David Volden and wife Bonita of Amarillo; a brother, Steven Lee of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Pearl Kaspari of Sutherland, Nebraska; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
