Judy Carolyn Brewster was born to George and Laverne Evans in Amarillo, TX
on February 11, 1947. Judy received a one-way ticket to paradise on April 14, 2023. After spending the first eight years of her life in Denver, CO, the family returned to Amarillo. Judy enriched her education at Austin Jr. High and Amarillo High School, where she participated in Choir and Bel Canto. After graduating from high school, Judy continued her studies at Abilene Christian University completing a bachelor’s degree in education in 1969.
Judy started her career in education at Bowie Jr. High School before taking a hiatus to venture into small business. Judy and husband Keith of 52 years opened Kid’s Korner children’s clothing store in 1976, conducting business for the next 20 years. In 1989, Judy accepted the position of Teenage Parenting Coordinator at Caprock High School, where she served as teacher and mentor to many young mothers until her retirement in 2013.
Judy loved her family. Judy married Keith Brewster on August 12, 1971. Judy loved and cherished her children, grandchildren who called her “Grandy”, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Judy is preceded in death by parents, George and Laverne Evans, son, Derek Brewster, and granddaughters, Lily and Ella Brewster. Judy loved God, her church, and shared glory today with those who passed before her.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Brewster; son, Ryan Brewster and wife Lauren; daughter, Berkley Sauer and husband Andrew; and three grandchildren Dylan, Colton, and James.
Judy had wonderful traits of compassion and sharing with her community. Judy often was seen taking clothing from her store to give to needy charities to provide for the children of Amarillo. Judy was delighted to contribute her sense of style and fashion to many foster children later in life, which brought her such joy and fulfillment. Judy had a beautiful voice and loved to sing duets in the car with her daughter Berkley.
